Here, we are talking about the outer ears (the shape and the constitution of the ear). They are indicators of the whole body and also of the size of kidneys.

The bigger the outer ears, the stronger the kidneys will be, from the perspective of their structure, and the stronger the person’s physical build. The bigger and stronger the ears are, the better the person’s build will be.

Outer ears are shaped like an inverted foetus. In fact, ear acupuncture is informed by the principle that the ear represents the entirety of the body.

The lower part of the outer ear thus represents the upper part of the body. To have a fallen, loose and long lobe is very good. It is a sign of a good build. The upper part of the outer ear represents the internal organs. A malformed outer ear may indicate a kidney problem. If the malformation is in the right outer ear, then the condition will affect the right kidney. This denotes propensity, it is not compulsory. A lesion in the lower part of the outer ear may denote tensions in the upper part of the body (on the head) and a lesion in the upper part of the outer ear may indicate strong emotional tensions.

Now, talking about the inner ear and the sense of hearing and listening, we know that in nature, the senses of smell, touch, taste, sight and hearing are vital for animals. Hearing is extremely developed in preys, to enable animals to escape aggression.

Otitis normally takes place in the Eustachian tube. However, the Eustachian tube is part of the digestive system. It goes from the ear to the mouth. It is the mediator between the sound I hear and the piece (physical food or virtual, affectionate food) that I need to get hold of. In other words, it is the liaison between what I hear and how I eat. The person’s tension is “I do not digest what I hear”. Normally, this refers to what one hears from the parents, about the parents or about one parent. Otitis and earache happen mostly to young children, at an age when they have to align, to obey. This is also the age when children hear things they dislike, and that upset them, from their parents or from adults. The child who is hurt by what he hears will express that pain by developing otitis.

It is advisable to find out what is happening between the parents, what others are saying about the parents, what parents say to each other, what parents are saying about the child, if they yell etc.

The capacity to listen is the body’s manifestation of humbleness, of wisdom, of discipline.

Adults with hearing problems are people who protect themselves from what they hear. Deaf people, or hard of hearing, are people who do not hear because they do not want to hear what displeases them, and so that they do not feel attacked anymore. This is because, in actual terms, they do feel attacked by those who do not agree with them. They are egocentric people. It is very difficult to explain this to a deaf person, precisely because the person will not want to listen.

Deafness develops more often in elderly people who are very mentally oriented and stubborn, who just want to do what they have on their minds and end up being a nuisance to everybody around them. In Western society, so-called civilized, they tend to become intolerant and inflexible. Old age merely reveals all the problems the person has failed to solve in his life. The body of the deaf person is telling him “look inside, listen to what comes from within, and don’t be thick-headed…” If the person looks inside himself, he will be better equipped to listen to others. As a matter of fact, the person who looks inside himself focuses more and is able to communicate with his intuition. Through communicating with his intuition, he will be more able to hear the signs that surround him. And, in fact, what others tell us are always signs to us.

Some babies are born deaf. In this case, it is paramount to look at the relationship between the parents during pregnancy or even at the time of birth. A child who is born deaf into this world is a child who comes already blocked in what comes to communicating with others. See Babies, Pregnancy and Childbirth.

If one of the parents dies when the child was very young, it is also important to see what the child heard about his father after his death.

The child who cannot run away from his verbal aggressors needs to turn off his ears. It is not possible to determine before hand the yin/yang polarity of any symptom in terms of right or left side.

Many people insist on the existence of a yin/yang polarity in terms of which side of the face the ear is placed. However, there is no common denominator to allow us to know which is the yin, feminine ear, and which is the yang, masculine ear, depending on which side the problem occurs.

When a child has otitis in the left ear, or when he goes deaf in the left ear, it is not possible to establish if the child has a problem with the Father or with the Mother.

Because, in fact, the child may feel hurt by what he hears from the Father (what the Father tells him), in which case it is likely that he has a problem with the Father, or maybe he feels hurt by what he hears about the Father (for instance, by what the Mother tells him about the Father), and here it is likely that the problem he has is related to the Mother and not to the Father.
