Elbow

Published on Locomotor system.

The elbow represents the capacity for radical change in direction in what we do in our lives regarding our own path, our goals. It represents a professional change or one that concerns our objectives.

The elbow is the knee of the arm, only more flexible on all sides except backwards. Here, flexibility is measured in what concerns the will for action.

Once more, in this case, given that it is a joint, the key words are inflexibility and undervaluing.

Normally, elbow related problems occur in the tendon or bone. In both cases we shall talk of undervaluing. When the tendon is affected, this is called tendonitis. In the world of tennis, it is given a well-known name: tennis elbow. Tendons are rather un-expandable. They help to keep bones tied on to the muscles. This is where the bone starts to be muscle, and where the muscle starts to be bone. Two different realities come together here. We talk of undervaluing of the gesture at the exact time it starts. This is where the image becomes still. It is the undervaluing of the action, in the present. Tendonitis reveals that the person feels some tension regarding the action he has to carry out or has just completed. “He is better than me”, or “I cannot beat him.”

This lesion may occur when practicing a sport or when pursuing an objective. In any case, it has to do with the person’s life and his goals.

The right elbow is yang, masculine, and the left elbow is yin, feminine. This applies both to left and right-handed people, despite the fact that this polarity is not obvious and must be handled with care, as we are dealing with the locomotor system.

Problems affecting the yang elbow denote undervaluing and inflexibility [due to the influence of a third party (a man?) or to the individual’s obsessive beliefs]. The person wants to reach further than what is reasonable. The capacity for radical change in direction is in the elbow. Inflexibility, insistence and stubbornness, the warrior behaviour contradict the role of the elbow, and then problems arise. Objectives make people go blind. With this type of beliefs, the individual will fall rapidly in a stage of undervaluing, because of the highly demanding pattern of thought with himself. And he will feel undervalued because he did not achieve what he wanted.

The question that needs to be posed is: Why do I let myself undervalue for this? Am I flexible in the way I think and live? Which man is influencing me (or has influenced me)?”

Problems in the yin elbow reveal undervaluing and inflexibility [due to the influence of a third party (a woman?) or to the individual’s obsessive beliefs]. The person’s sensitivity is hurt in his path to reach his goal. Objectives blind the person and violate his sensitivity. The capacity for radical change in direction lies in the elbow. Inflexibility, susceptibility and the victim’s behaviour contradict the role of the elbow, and problems arise. With this type of beliefs, the individual reaches the stage of feeling undervalued very rapidly, because of the highly demanding pattern of thought with himself. And he will feel undervalued because he did not achieve what he wanted. The question that needs to be posed is: Why do I let my self undervalue for this? Am I flexible in the way I think and live? Which woman is influencing me (or has influenced me)?”
