Gallbladder

Published on Digestive system.

The gallbladder belongs to the tree element (wood) of the five western elements. It works directly with the liver.

It gets bile from the liver, stores it and concentrates it, and then it sends it to the duodenum. The bile ensures a better digestion, mostly of fats. The gallbladder is a little sac very irrigated by nerves.

Therefore, the gallbladder is an aid to digestion. It is a form of psychological aid. The tension the person feels is anger, rage, something that left a bitter taste in the mouth.

Problems in the gallbladder indicate trouble dealing with feelings and, particularly, clarifying them.” What is my place? Am I being granted recognition for what I do?” The person goes through fits of anger but will not express his feelings. For this reason, he does not get rid of his bile and, instead, he stores it.

The person who suffers from gallbladder problems is someone who feels invaded by someone close and is unable to express his feelings.

When I feel anger or aggressiveness, I feel I may attack the other person. For this reason, the sympathetic nervous system gets ready for it, gets ready to fight and resorts to adrenalin. The energy rises up to the neck, shoulders, back and arms and it irrigates the brain quite substantially. The person loses his mind. People who store anger have chronic tension on their shoulders, neck and arms.

There are three solutions to deal with anger:

4) To annul oneself and pretend everything is ok, stuck in the illusion that the cause has been sorted out.

5) To follow a very yang path, playing a sport like punching boxing bags, play rugby or even hit someone.

6) To follow a yin path and cry our hearts out, thus becoming completely aware of our feelings.

The first solution does not solve anything and makes the person accumulate anger, something that could cause problems later.

The second solution resolves the effect but not the cause, and makes the person increasingly more dependent on that violent activity, which gives him the illusion of emptying his aggressiveness. What the person does not realise is that his aggressiveness is being nurtured, and, for this reason, growing.

The third solution resolves the cause. The person empties his anger batteries through awareness and observation of himself, becoming more genuine and assertive. The propensity for anger diminishes.

When anger is of the chronic type and never lived through, the parasympathetic nervous system (the system that regulates the automatic functioning of the majority of internal organs) has little opportunity to come into action, because the sympathetic system (which regulates adrenalin) is extremely active. The parasympathetic is thus unable to regulate the functioning of the body’s vital systems that depend on it.

Anger is directly associated to gallbladder problems. Consequently, and by extension, the liver is also involved.

Symptoms may include: headache, pain in the eyes, sciatica, pain in the legs, pain on the shoulders, lack of energy, lack of determination, absence of sexual energy, irritation, impatience and digestive disturbances.
