Lupus - discoid lupus erythematosus

Published on Immune system, Skin.

This is considered to be an autoimmune disease. In this case, the immune system, which normally protects the body from germs, bacteria and viruses, looses discernment between what it should accept, like healthy tissues, and what it should reject. So, it produces antibodies that attack various healthy parts of the body, causing inflammation. Lupus comes from the Latin and means wolf. Erythematosus means red. Lupus erythematosus sores look like wolf bites.

Discoid lupus erythematosus only affects skin. It is skin tuberculosis, whose lesions are grouped in plaques and may infect. It happens mostly in the skin of the face and in the mucosal surfaces of the nose and mouth.

Therefore, in the case of lupus, the key tension is lack of discernment. Skin problems are associated to incapacity to communicate issues and to a feeling of separation. The person feels separated from his clan, his family, and feels this separation as an aggression. And he tries to blame the other person for the aggression. As a result, he loses discernment. He feels enraged, attacked, and loses discernment regarding whom he should be with and whom he should not.

Who does he see as a wolf in his life? This person he sees as a wolf is close to him, either at home, or is someone he has a relationship with.

The person’s face becomes affected and this fact may constitute further tension, related to aesthetics, for the person: “I feel uglier”. This aggravates self-esteem and, consequently, it further confuses the person’s immune system.

Generally speaking, lupus is a symptom that affects women much more than men.
