Bowel - small bowel

Published on Digestive system.

The small bowel belongs to the fire element of the five elements of eastern philosophy. It makes up the fifth, and next to last, segment of the digestive tube. It is divided into duodenum, jejunum, and ileum.

The small bowel gets some help in its digestive functions from secretions of the liver (bile) and of the pancreas pancreatic secretion, which are injected into the duodenum. The large bowel (colon) absorbs primarily liquids.

Digestion proper takes place in the small bowel. The small bowel separates the ingredients and assimilates nutrients. The bowel analyzes, discerns, and separates just like the rest of the elimination system (sweat glands, kidneys, and intestines). The small bowel, in its assimilation function, stands for nutrition, the relationship with the Earth, with the biological Mother, which symbolizes Earth. In the small bowel we find problems related to home, family, money, family budget, and work. (All root problems.)

People who suffer from cancer of the small bowel are people who do not like to look forward and confront their problems. They are afraid to look. Since the person is afraid, he does not look and looses his capacity to discern. Therefore, he cannot digest because, if he does not look, he is forced to absorb everything, without discrimination, and that is impossible. Yes, it is impossible to absorb everything without discrimination. So, these people release without digesting, without even looking. “I don’t want to see that.” And they come to the conclusion: “I can not digest everything, so I prefer not to look.” It is a vicious circle.

People who suffer from cancer are individuals who are unable to verbalize their fears and their inability to discern. Subsequently, they are usually opinionated people who always have something to say. They are not humble; they are bony people, dry, and somewhat bitter. They are in constant denial.

In the bowel we find disorders of assimilation and discernment associated with fear. Diarrhea (I’m shit scared) is caused by anguish and fear. One may die from hunger if he does not digest. Diarrhea causes the person to lose much fluid and may result in dehydration, a sign of inflexibility. The person has many fears and needs some flexibility in his life. So, he must drink plenty of water.

When the body develops diarrhea, it is telling us: “don’t hold on to the consequences, don’t fear what may happen. Don’t hold on, do not get attached.” The body does not lie. The body forces the person to release. The student who must understand all that he learned but is not able to differentiate what he must remember from what he does not have to, does not assimilate. Therefore, he has a violent bout of diarrhea.

We are less conscious of tensions related to bowel problems than we are of tensions related to the stomach. Many times they express themselves as spasms. Spasm and colic: “Either I control or I release.” People who never have an opinion, or a critical opinion, people we refer to as having no backbone, people with no character, are also prone to intestinal problems. In their case, the cause is more likely found in the pancreas (in its digestive function) than in the small bowel.

All tensions that a person feels in the small bowel are associated with his roots, and in particular with the home, spouse, work, and the female role model (the biological mother).
